Bunnie Bar turns two!

happy birthday bunnie bar!

So of course I had to fly down to Los Angeles to celebrate the 2nd birthday of my blog, because only something so outrageous and fun would do this special day justice. Go big or go home, right?

I wish. But, I did go to LA with my BFF to soak up some real California sun since Vancouver has been a disappointment so far. However, now that I’m back, we’re not doing so bad. As for the trip…I didn’t shop nearly as much as I was hoping to. That’s probably a blessing in disguise.

I didn’t realize that it was Bunnie Bar’s 2 years until it suddenly dawned on me during a conversation. Has it really been two years already?? Time flies, things change, and you get old…but apparently I’m still blogging! And… you’re still reading, which is really amazing to me. Even without readers, I might still be blogging today (probably not), but I know for a fact that it would be much less fulfilling. The interaction, comments and opportunities to meet new people locally and online is endless, and I love it. Is that too cyber geeky?

What I’m trying to say, is thank you. Thank you for reading and sharing with me. Thank you for loving it, or hating it. And for all the readers that remain nameless, thank you too. (But maybe you should say hi sometime.)

Lastly, thank you to the tripod and people who have helped me take ridiculous pictures of myself, and to the friends, especially Ian, who helped me start it all. ♥

XO,

bunnie

And this is me, at day. On a good day. Baggy tops, boy friend blazers and accessories galore is one of my favorite looks. I know I promised no more summer wear, but I love summer too much to wait for another year to post these…. and besides, by that time, who knows how I’ll look. ;)

And… what’s your favorite look? I might just steal it.

There’s a fire inside

Saturday morning and it’s barely 9am. I’m exhausted from watching episode after episode of Jersey Shore last night while working away at my computer on some stuff for Love Bunnie. You know how you feel after you stare at computer screen for way too long feel like your head is a heavy rock? I feel stoned. Not that I’d know what that feels like.

It’s been one week since I’ve started a regular job again – I’m not used to the whole 9-5 deal anymore. I feel like there’s so much to do that I’m constantly overwhelmed and mentally exhausted. Every thing is not enough. I need more. I’m going to have to lock myself at home every night to do everything I want to do. And I’m going to go crazy. Who wants to be my salvation?

On the other hand, me going crazy might make for some interesting outfits, and interesting posts. HEE HUM HUM a PEE PUM PUM! AWOOOOOOOO!! What do you think?

the plain and the beautiful

For me, this is as simple as it gets. A plain Jane white beater, your regular denim shorts and a “you’ll never notice me” blazer. But pair it with some eye catching accessories and suddenly, you’re not so plain anymore.

One of rules I live by: Accessorize because accessories make the outfit.

little black dresses

Bedo $40 | Urban Behavior $30 | Urban Planet $1 | Talula $90

for less than $100.

The classic little black dress has become more and more stylish with time and in this ever-changing fashion world, a girl can’t ever have just one. So why do it? We don’t.

Nor do we spend a fortune on our LBDs, as I’m sure you can tell. Don’t get me wrong, I’d kill for a dress by Vivienne Westwood (and then I’d have to kill myself for going bankrupt) but one dress is never enough and I can hardly justify spending thousands of dollars on hundreds of dresses….. just yet.  So till then, there’s nothing I love more than finding fabulous pieces at fabulous prices.

The Bedo bandage dress was a major steal (regular price: $120) and the Urban Planet one sleeve was part of a buy one, get the second for $1 deal (yes, you could say it’s a lame store but how could you resist?).

Anyway, go ahead and laugh. I’m wearing a $1 dress. But I feel like a million bucks. What about you?

After a long streak of barbecues, sun tanning, and beach bunny-ing, the rain’s made it’s way back into our lives again. Not saying it’s a bad thing – with all forest fires and crunchy yellow lawns right now, we definitely need some rain.

But there’s something about the rain and gloom that makes me feel tired, lazy, ugly. Like a minor case of SAD. That’s probably why I’ve been hiding. Why my hair has been in a bun for the last few days. Why I’ve rocked out (with my cock out) on Band Hero for 4 hours. Why I’ve been stuffing cookies into my mouth when no one’s looking.

I don’t care.

bunnie
