Sorry for the not so good quality of photos, but I had to improvise with the little resources I had… as in no photographer, no tripod, no mirror and poor lighting. But I did okay right?

I finally had a chance to do an outfit post with this awesomely cool tee that was sent to me by Fake LA. It’s one of the most luxurious and soft casual tee’s I’ve ever worn and I love the unique cowl back it has. Since their launch, Fake LA has gained a large following by celebrities and trendsetters and can be found in one of my favorite boutiques in LA — Kitson! If you have a moment, check out the rest of their tees for men and women on their site.

On another note, do you guys remember the store Accessorize? It was kind of like a Claire’s and Icing, but I don’t think it’s anywhere in Vancouver anymore. Anyway, the store is everywhere in Taipei and I find it pretty pricey. But I had to get that pink bow ring in my photo. I don’t know why. It’s so childish… and Asian. But I love!

I hope everybunny’s been enjoying their weeks and weekends! I’ve been in Taipei for just over 2 weeks now and I’m going to HK on Thursday. This trip is going by so quickly, I don’t want it to end!

Thanks to VancityBuzz and Patrick Leung for doing an “Around Town with Bunnie Bar” feature on me yesterday! Pat and I made a trip over to Lonsdale Quay last week, and although it was raining, it was a lot of fun! And cold.

Now for the even more exciting news… I quit my job and am running away to Asia to hide there until someone finds me and forces me to come back! Just kidding. Well, kind of. I did resign from my work, mainly because I felt like it was time for a change and because the time off I need is… too long.

I’m going to Taipei for 5 weeks. And I’m excited and nervous. The last time I went to Asia was 20 years ago, when I was 5. And since then, I haven’t really been much of an avid traveler, although I would love to be able to see more of the world. I also haven’t gone on a vacation that lasted longer than a week. Meaning that I haven’t been away from home, from family, from everything for…. more than a week. Just a month ago, I didn’t even have any idea when I’d visit Asia, if ever.

I made a vow to myself that I wouldn’t look back on this year and wish I did. So I’m trying to make a change. Create excitement. Take on challenges. And I stared with a comprehensive list of goals and resolutions at the beginning of the year. It’s hopping so far, and I hope it’ll only get better!

Of course, I’ll be updating you guys with whatever I’m doing while I’m away, so stay with me! BTW, any recommendations on things to do / eat /see while I’m there?

As I’m lying here on the couch in my most gangster slouch, engulfed in a giant blanket with the Canucks on, my mind is blank. I feel nothing. Actually, I feel pretty tired. And my brain also feels like mashed potatoes. I don’t think mashed potatoes have feelings, nor do they think. So that brings me back to my first point: my mind is blank.

Considering that I’m in the middle of writing a blog post, a blank mind is not ideal. But regardless of how thoughtless my brain is, words are autonomously forming from my fingers and being transposed onto the screen. Wow, this is boring. I’m sorry.

This is one of my favorite outfits so far. It’s casual and it’s comfortable. I’ve always been a big fan of “effortless looks.” The kind where you feel like they just grabbed whatever was on the floor but still manages to look good. (Although in my case, I tried.) Not to mention, my H&M jeggings cost $15, my denim jacket is from highschool, and I’m wearing the most versatile booties I’ve ever bought. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Do you like the effortless look?

Russian Hat + Year of the Dragon

Happy Chinese New Year everybunny!
Wishing you + your families much health, happiness and prosperity!

Danier leather jacket | Zara leopard cardigan | Wilfred tank
Marc by Marc bag | Gap Kids hat | Seychelles booties

It’s the year of the Dragon! Where are all muh dragons at? Being a tiger, I had to keep true to my roots. Hence the leopard (it’s a cat, same difference) cardi, and um, furry hat. Because cats also have fur.

This is my 2nd time wearing my Russian hat. I wore it to dim sum yesterday and I probably looked crazy. I say that because all of “my people” were staring at me. Elderly Chinese grannies seem to enjoy staring though, without being polite enough to look away once you catch them and stare back. So, maybe they were just being…. normal.

On another note, my weekend was great. It was partially anti-social, chill, and laid back. I spent Saturday night with 3 friends drinking super-charged golf carts, eating Sour Patch Bunnies, watching YouTube make-up tutorials of Promise Phan transforming into Angelina Jolie and other celebs, and episodes of Happy Endings. I was the only girl. What? I was the only girl. Um, awesome.

I failed finishing school

Just kidding. I’m kind of smart. Or at least I used to be. I got a science degree. True story.

Then I started working. Working, and forgetting everything I learned in school. Which was okay, because what kind of normal person uses the Pythagorean theory, analyzes action potential, calculates the projectile trajectory of a moving object or knows what pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis means on a normal day? (Look it up.)

I’m not working in the industry I went to school for, but I’m okay with that. I like internet marketing, business, arts and crafts and the like, but you can learn all of that through experience. You can’t learn science though. This is what I tell myself this to make me feel better about my degree. I did enjoy it though, I swear.

And over time, all this knowledge — the knowledge that made my brain so sexy and used to meet cute boys — has leaked out of my head and been erased from my memory… forever. That, makes me sad. And annoyed. Yea, you know what’s annoying? Being the spectator of a somewhat science-related debate when someone turns to you and goes, YOU should know this! You did science! Oh yeah? Well you know what? I DON’T. I don’t remember what I learned 3 years ago, and you know what? I never learned that anyway, you asshole.

So I feel dumb. I feel dumb that I can’t remember why your ears turned out funny or why your elbows are double-jointed. Or why you have acne. (Okay I do. It’s from bacteria eating fatty acids off your face.) And sometimes, I miss being in the industry. I miss really using my brain. So tell me – did you go to school for something you are or aren’t doing now? And how’s that going for you?
