Hi bunnies. :) I’m in Vegas right now for work, attending the Market trade show. Vegas for work? Yes, but it’s not the same as going to Vegas for pleasure. I’ve been to Vegas enough times. I think I need to go somewhere else. Dear work, please send me somewhere else. Thank you.

We flew in on Saturday and had a night out — eating, drinking, dancing, eating — followed by really fast sleeping. Aka, passing out. I was pretty excited to wear the new H&M dress I bought a few days before my trip. Yes, I shopped. But it was only $35. And it’s cute… right?

Earlier this evening, I decided that it would be a good idea to have a small bite before bed. Being tired and lazy, I pulled on a pair of leggings and wandered to the cafe downstairs with my wallet and phone. As I got off the elevator, I felt something touching my leg. I stopped and turned to see what it was. Nothing. I scanned the floor further. There it was. A foot away. Lying on the floor. My fcking underwear. Too embarrassed to think, I frantically picked it up and shoved it into my leggings.

My underwear got stuck to my leggings in my suitcase, and managed to make it down the hall, into the elevator and across the casino floor with me. Yeah it did.

When I was younger, I remember my aunt telling me that that I should coin this phrase: I don’t know. And don’t get me wrong. I’m not dumb. (I tried to prove it in this post.) I know some things. I’m just indecisive. Really. Really. Really, indecisive.

Some people just know. They know what they’re going to wear each morning. They know which color shoe they prefer. They know which flavor of ice cream they’re going to order. And it’s easy for them to choose what to do when given options on a day with… nothing to do. Me? I can’t even decide what kind of food I feel like eating if I’m not craving anything in particular. And once I’m there, I can’t decide what to order. I suck.

You know what else sucks? Those other people who really know. They just do. And I don’t mean about the unimportant things in life. I mean real shit. These people are all-knowing on an elite level. These are the people that grow up knowing all their life that they want to be a lawyer. And they do it. Then there the others. Those that meet someone and within a short period of time, they too, know. Apparently when you know, you just know.

So what’s the secret?

For one, I graduated years ago, and honestly, I still don’t know what I want to do. When I was in high school, I thought I wanted to be a doctor. Or a pharmacist. Clearly, I’m not. I’m blogging. For fun. Who would have thought?

I had a conversation with my GF the other day and she had the same question. How do you just know? How do you know if he’s the one? What if you think you might know. Is that knowing? Or is there some ultimate force that takes over and makes you 100% sure? Do you trust yourself enough to make that decision? Because I don’t. I “knew” once.  And it @#$%’d me over. Now I’m just scarred for life. Traumatized. All-unknowing. That’s another story for another day.

I think a part of the issue is that I’m a perfectionist. I want everything to be perfect, to be right. So, I can over-analyze things. Sometimes. As a result, I don’t know what I want because I’m scared to make the wrong decision. And I can’t figure out what’s best for me. And maybe I’m scared of failure. Which can in turn, cause failure. So what am I to do? Take a leap of faith and risk making a very bad decision? Or play it safe and miss out on opportunities? Are you supposed to think with your head, or your heart? I have a problem. Maybe I’m going through my quarter life crisis. At least that, I know.

Just kidding. I’m kind of smart. Or at least I used to be. I got a science degree. True story.

Then I started working. Working, and forgetting everything I learned in school. Which was okay, because what kind of normal person uses the Pythagorean theory, analyzes action potential, calculates the projectile trajectory of a moving object or knows what pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis means on a normal day? (Look it up.)

I’m not working in the industry I went to school for, but I’m okay with that. I like internet marketing, business, arts and crafts and the like, but you can learn all of that through experience. You can’t learn science though. This is what I tell myself this to make me feel better about my degree. I did enjoy it though, I swear.

And over time, all this knowledge — the knowledge that made my brain so sexy and used to meet cute boys — has leaked out of my head and been erased from my memory… forever. That, makes me sad. And annoyed. Yea, you know what’s annoying? Being the spectator of a somewhat science-related debate when someone turns to you and goes, YOU should know this! You did science! Oh yeah? Well you know what? I DON’T. I don’t remember what I learned 3 years ago, and you know what? I never learned that anyway, you asshole.

So I feel dumb. I feel dumb that I can’t remember why your ears turned out funny or why your elbows are double-jointed. Or why you have acne. (Okay I do. It’s from bacteria eating fatty acids off your face.) And sometimes, I miss being in the industry. I miss really using my brain. So tell me – did you go to school for something you are or aren’t doing now? And how’s that going for you?

Before I get into this, I have to mention that I have been unable to post over the last 2 weeks due to lack of space I had remaining on the server I was using. My biggest concern was that you’d all be gone. I’m back now, so you can continue loving me. :)

Yup, bad habits lead to me getting some awesome new… shit. Because of the rainstorm that hit Louisville right when my flight was supposed to take off, what was originally a super inexpensive trip turned out to be…. not so inexpensive. I spent the next day exploring the Mall of America by my lonesome — a bunch of awesome stores combined with no tax on shoes, no tax on clothing . Dangerous. But so badass.

The Friday after, I also had the day off. So…. I went shopping in the States.

I have a problem. It’s shopping. But it only comes in phases. And always at the worse times. Here’s just a portion of the goods.

So of course I had to fly down to Los Angeles to celebrate the 2nd birthday of my blog, because only something so outrageous and fun would do this special day justice. Go big or go home, right?

I wish. But, I did go to LA with my BFF to soak up some real California sun since Vancouver has been a disappointment so far. However, now that I’m back, we’re not doing so bad. As for the trip…I didn’t shop nearly as much as I was hoping to. That’s probably a blessing in disguise.

I didn’t realize that it was Bunnie Bar’s 2 years until it suddenly dawned on me during a conversation. Has it really been two years already?? Time flies, things change, and you get old…but apparently I’m still blogging! And… you’re still reading, which is really amazing to me. Even without readers, I might still be blogging today (probably not), but I know for a fact that it would be much less fulfilling. The interaction, comments and opportunities to meet new people locally and online is endless, and I love it. Is that too cyber geeky?

What I’m trying to say, is thank you. Thank you for reading and sharing with me. Thank you for loving it, or hating it. And for all the readers that remain nameless, thank you too. (But maybe you should say hi sometime.)

Lastly, thank you to the tripod and people who have helped me take ridiculous pictures of myself, and to the friends, especially Ian, who helped me start it all. ♥

Big fish versus small fish. If presented with the option, would you rather work for a big company or a small company? There seem to be pros and cons for both. Let me break it down for you, the way I perceive it.

Big. More established, more security. Chance of higher salary. Opportunity to grow with the company, and if you do, it can be a big deal. The problem is, will you be someone? Or just a numbered employee?

Small. Chance to learn more about the business and gain experience in new areas. Opportunity to work closely with head honchos. Less security, possibly less pay. Room for creativity and your ideas.

What else is there? It’s possible that I may be faced with this situation soon…and I’ve been thinking about the benefits and downsides of each without but I haven’t made much progress… so help me. What’s your take on it?

And seriously, since when did I get to a stage where I have to make these kinds of decisions? It was just yesterday that I was running through the park, twirling in a tutu. (Not literally, but it’s a good idea.)

This is me, wearing one of my favorite tops I bought while on my trip in Long Beach. Fact: I wear new clothes like I own nothing else. So obviously, I had to wash the shirt. Because obviously, I’m not that dirty. And so it washed. And dried. AND SHRUNK TO A SHORT CROP TOP WITH MANGLED SLEEVES.

So, that’s the end of it. You’ll see one more outfit post with this top. And nothing else. Maybe I’ll try to wear the disproportionate ”crop top.” Maybe I won’t. I don’t know how. And I don’t even want to look at it. Pout.

Anyone have any tips on what they do with shirts that have shrunk??

It’s that time of the year — where you do your taxes, and hope that you get some sort of magical tax return. Unfortunately for me, that’s not happening this year. I may even have to PAY. @#$%.

I was looking forward to treating myself to something nice – it’s been a while. And I’ve been working so hard. My dreams of buying a new Balenciaga or Marc Jacobs have been post-poned. I think it’s a sign that I should control myself. But…. I’ve been so good. Haven’t I?

I had my mind set on getting a new pair of Chanel earrings over the weekend at the same time 1000 other people decided to spoil themselves with something, Chanel. It was everything but class. It was a zoo. A hoard of – get this — Chinese people pushing and shoving, trying to get a glimpse of themselves in the mirror. I guess my people, we all think alike.

After minutes of not being able to find a free sales associate, I left. And I was grumpy. Like a kid being forced out of a candy store, empty handed. Yet another sign.

I’m clearly not winning. But at least my clothes are still cute.

Yet another summer post…. to remind you of how unlucky we are, and how cold it is now. Or if you’re from down south, to remind you of nothing, because this is what everyday is like anyway. I envy you.

Everything’s moving so quickly… does anyone remember the first half of the year? Feels like I was just celebrating 2010 a moment ago. Which means I need to get hopping, because there isn’t much time left before the year’s over, and I don’t want to feel like I didn’t achieve all that I wanted to…. again. BTW, what did I tell you about working out, staying fit as a resolution? Epic FAIL. This bun is slowly baking dinner rolls and muffin tops for everyone to share.

I don’t know where this idea originated, but it’s both stupid and interesting. So here it is. I’m exposed for all of you to see.

Soon enough I’ll be substituting the sunnies for an umbrella. I’m sure the rest of Vancouver can understand. As for why I carry a book around sometimes, you never know when you’re going to be @#$%ing bored out of your mind, waiting for something or someone with nothing to do. I believe in efficiency and productivity. It helps me.

On a side note, I’ve neglected my blog for a while and I’m sorry? But I have a good excuse. I was away in Vegas for work having the time of my life. Because all I do is party, ah ah ah ah! Right… but really, I was there for my first trade show. I feel so… important, so cool, so grown up. And like a true grown up, it’s bedtime. Or is that like a true granny?
