happy birthday bunnie bar!

So of course I had to fly down to Los Angeles to celebrate the 2nd birthday of my blog, because only something so outrageous and fun would do this special day justice. Go big or go home, right?

I wish. But, I did go to LA with my BFF to soak up some real California sun since Vancouver has been a disappointment so far. However, now that I’m back, we’re not doing so bad. As for the trip…I didn’t shop nearly as much as I was hoping to. That’s probably a blessing in disguise.

Banana Republic necklace | Michael Kors watch | boutique belt

I didn’t realize that it was Bunnie Bar’s 2 years until it suddenly dawned on me during a conversation. Has it really been two years already?? Time flies, things change, and you get old…but apparently I’m still blogging! And… you’re still reading, which is really amazing to me. Even without readers, I might still be blogging today (probably not), but I know for a fact that it would be much less fulfilling. The interaction, comments and opportunities to meet new people locally and online is endless, and I love it. Is that too cyber geeky?

What I’m trying to say, is thank you. Thank you for reading and sharing with me. Thank you for loving it, or hating it. And for all the readers that remain nameless, thank you too. (But maybe you should say hi sometime.)

Lastly, thank you to the tripod and people who have helped me take ridiculous pictures of myself, and to the friends, especially Ian, who helped me start it all. ♥

XO,

bunnie

Another vacation to Los Angeles has ended… and I’m back in Vancouver where the air is clear and crisp. Ahhh!

I’m super tired from this trip – cramming in all the shopping and activities there are to do in LA over the span of a few days keeps you going, and going and going. Like the energizer bunny.  It’s true – we all need a vacation after a vacation!

Listen B*tch, I’ve been patiently waiting for you to tell me how your trip was because I’m genuinely interested in what you did, what you bought, and your overall well being. If you make me wait any longer, I’m going to remove myself as a member of your blog, unfollow you on Twitter, delete you off my Facebook and never read your blog again.

. . .

Holy shit. Okay. I’m off my lazy Bunnie butt…. and this post is Just. For.You.

LA is not really “As Seen on TV.”  TV and movies are deceiving. Everything seems much bigger and more glamorous than it really is…

Okay, I lied.
It’s still pretty freakin’ awesome to be…

shopping on Rodeo Drive {hello Miu Miu and Emma Roberts}…

looking over Santa Monica Pier {and Speidi’s engagement spot}…

eating at Toast {aka we hope Brody Jenner is eating here today}…

eating some more at Joan’s on 3rd within 10 feet of Misha Barton…

and looking to the right and seeing the Hollywood sign… {Yes, it’s Miley Cyrus.}

. . .

And did I mention… We made it to DisneyFreakinLand?!

Okay, I know you guys are dying for some sunny bunny fabulous pictures… eat your heart out.

Spotted: THE Hollywood sign… on our way back to the car after satisfying our Pinkberry craving for the hour. Although it was far far away and we were obviously too short to get a good view of it, we tried to take a picture of it.

Hey! Great idea. Let’s get someone to take a picture of us with the sign in the background! So like any other happy Asian tourist, we asked some random on the street to help us out. Of course he agreed… after giving us a ‘you are a funny alien from a foreign land’ look.

You see the teeny weeny Hollywood sign in the back that you can hardly see?  His masterpiece. Notice anything else you can’t see?

Yeah. WE’RE NOT IN THE DAMN PICTURE.
My friend, YOU are a funny alien from a foreign land.

Anyways, aside from meeting funny people, stalking celebrities and EEEEE!-ing over everything in sight, we managed to do a little shopping, and a lot of window shopping. I know you nosy people are wondering what I bought… {it’s okay, I’m nosy too} so here are the two that are worth mentioning. :)

I’m sure you can see with your little eyeballs that LA was a damn good trip.

Where does Bunnie go next??

I was meant to go to LA…

I’m baaaack!

Miss me? No? It’s okay. My mom did.

I came back  from Los Angeles Monday night only to find that the sun that embraced me over the last 4 days didn’t follow me home. I thought we loved eachother? Wah wah. :(

Instead, I came home to rain, rain, and more rain. We ran off the plane with our scarfs wrapped around our heads to avoid getting soggy and although it was pouring, there was something really comforting about the rain. Hmmm home sweet home.

Because I’m so freakin’ smart, I took the following day off work… which was a damn good idea because I needed the rest. And another cocktail. At 2pm, I was downing a glass of water to get rid of my full blown afternoon buzz and strawberry tomato face. Oh the perks of being Asian {and of knowing how to use Photoshop}.

{ Mickey Mouse shirt? Uh yea, I’m still on vacation. }

We decided to use Allegiant Airlines for our trip, which flies out of Bellingham, WA over to LA. Since we needed to drive to the Canadian-US border, wait in line, get interrogated by border patrol before being released to flee to the airport, we needed to leave a few hours ahead of time. And because the last time we didn’t, we missed our flight to Vegas. Fail.

This time, somehow along the way, we managed to @#$% it up again. We ended up getting to the airport 30 minutes before the flight — latest check in time: 45 minutes prior. We literally raced into the airport only to stand in a freaking line while waiting for 2 slooooww motion parties to check in. Holy @#$%ing shit I thought I was going to have a heart attack!!! If I did, how would I ever… *c r o a k *blog again??!

It was finally our turn to check in and the bitter agent proceeded to remind us how LATE we were. Yes, I @#$%ing know check-in is at least 45 mins before the flight. Why the @#$% do you think I’m @#$%ing panicking so much??? So can we get on? Yes. Oh, but I don’t know about your check-in luggage. It may or may not make it on to the plane. WTF? So how are WE going to get on the plane, but the luggage isn’t? This is a freakishly small airline. I can SEE the plane sitting there, 10 feet away. Just let me do it myself, Useless.

Not taking any chances, we decided to toss the check-in luggage. I ripped open my carry-on and stuffed as much of C’s clothes in as I could. The rest? Stuffed it into a large Gucci dust bag. We raced to the security check, each with 2 purses thrown over our shoulders, a mini carry-on ungracefully dragging behind, clothes hanging off anything that you could hang clothes off of, and hugging an over sized potato sack, A designer potato sack.

We’re going to Los Angeles, bitch. Brody Jenner is waiting for us and you, your measly airline, or time can’t stop us. Mooo cha cha cha cha!!!

XO,

PS. It was fun. You think I’d leaving you hanging like that? To be continued…

Los Angeles is in dire need of a Bunnie

In just T-6 days, C & I are going to be heading down to

Los Angeles

Okay, so I’ve never been there before {except to Disneyland when I was 9… which doesn’t count} so I’m SUPER excited! We’ll be leaving on Nov.13 and staying for only 4 days and 3 nights. Wish we could have made the trip longer, but unfortunately, in order to afford to go on a trip {and shop… and pay for the massive bill that will result from it}, we need to go back to something called WORK. Wah wah!

Since we have absolutely NO idea where to go or what to do, we did a bit of research and found some places we’d like to visit – Hollywood, Melrose, Rodeo Drive, Universal Studios… umm and then it stops there.

Okay I lied. We know exactly what we want to do. We’re going to eat until our tummies explode into Bunnie bits and shop until we’re so broke we can’t afford to come back home or buy another meal. Wow I think I just killed myself. :)

{ C & I in Vegas; July 09 }

Anyways… I’m sure there are some LA must sees and hot-spots that we don’t know about. So, I need your help.

We want to go shopping, eat at yummy restaurants and explore the city – all within 4 days. Not much time, I know. {We don’t even have time for DisneyLand!} I know some of you have been to LA and others of you live there.. *wink.

Recommendations for Bunnie, anybunny?

Greatly appreciated. Loves you :)
