bad habits, new stuff

Before I get into this, I have to mention that I have been unable to post over the last 2 weeks due to lack of space I had remaining on the server I was using. My biggest concern was that you’d all be gone. I’m back now, so you can continue loving me. :)

Yup, bad habits lead to me getting some awesome new… shit. Because of the rainstorm that hit Louisville right when my flight was supposed to take off, what was originally a super inexpensive trip turned out to be…. not so inexpensive. I spent the next day exploring the Mall of America by my lonesome — a bunch of awesome stores combined with no tax on shoes, no tax on clothing . Dangerous. But so badass.

The Friday after, I also had the day off. So…. I went shopping in the States.

I have a problem. It’s shopping. But it only comes in phases. And always at the worse times. Here’s just a portion of the goods.

Big fish, small fish

Aldo bangles, necklace | Michael Kors watch | Wanted flats

Big fish versus small fish. If presented with the option, would you rather work for a big company or a small company? There seem to be pros and cons for both. Let me break it down for you, the way I perceive it.

Big. More established, more security. Chance of higher salary. Opportunity to grow with the company, and if you do, it can be a big deal. The problem is, will you be someone? Or just a numbered employee?

Small. Chance to learn more about the business and gain experience in new areas. Opportunity to work closely with head honchos. Less security, possibly less pay. Room for creativity and your ideas.

What else is there? It’s possible that I may be faced with this situation soon…and I’ve been thinking about the benefits and downsides of each without but I haven’t made much progress… so help me. What’s your take on it?

And seriously, since when did I get to a stage where I have to make these kinds of decisions? It was just yesterday that I was running through the park, twirling in a tutu. (Not literally, but it’s a good idea.)

XO,

bunnie

PS. There it is. The tee I loved so much… that shrank and was last seen: Just a photographic memory.

When it rains, just add some sparkle

Rain rain go away, come again another hour… Yes, Vancouver is one of the most livable cities in the world, but it’s also one of the rainiest cities as well. It’s been raining for the last few weeks, with a few peeks of  sunshine every now and then. At least I had a chance to wear my Betsy sunnies… for a few hours anyway.

So what’s a bunnie to do to bring some sunshine into her life when the days are glum and chum? Wear some sparkle and glitz! I adore this sequin jacket from Sparkle + Fade. And my new favorite necklace from Banana Republic.

As much as I try to stay on a positive note, my mood seems to be in tune with the weather. I think it’s a common thing for us Vancouverites. When it’s raining, I’m gloomy. When it’s sunny, I’m ecstatic. Sort of like a sparkle and fade. It sucks, and my socks keep turning black from rain water seeping into my shoes. Ghetto superstar? Just a bit.

bunnie

PS. BTW, still no new purchases. And no coffee. I. Am. Awesome.

I wasted 2 hours or maybe more…

looking at dresses.

Lately, I’ve had no urge to shop, no urge to spend. Shocking, I know. Until today. Not only did I physically go to the mall (and come back with nothing except one “work” dress), I also spent a few hours shopping online. Since having a new job, I’ve been running out of clothes to wear. That’s not to say that I’ve been going to work naked, but I’m getting there. Don’t be a perv.

Aside from the thrill of simply buying something new, wearing ‘work’ clothes makes me feel…. like a pretend adult. Like I’m playing dress-up. And since ’tis the season to be broke, I’m going frugal aka Forever 21. And the result? Pages and pages of work appropriate dresses…

And now you’re going WTF and wondering how the hell anyone wears dresses that short to work. Well, considering the models are 5’7″+ and I’m clearly not, they’ll fit me perfectly. Isn’t it great being perfect?

And, you’ll be relieved to know, we’re semi-casual.

The one thing that sucks about online shopping (and especially online shopping at Forever 21) is that like all those hot pictures of people you see on Facebook, pictures are damn deceiving. Which leaves me with the hardest part….. what does a Bunnie buy?

XO,

bunnie

PS. Sorry for leaving you guys hanging. It’s been a while. I’ll be better next time. ;)
