I have a new appreciation for models. Besides looking pretty and glamorous, they also manage to look like goddesses with every move they make. Must be hard. Sucks to be them.

It also sucks to be a celebrity. Have you seen those nasty shots the paparazzi get?

The moral of the story is: Photoshoots are fun when you’re with your friends, but having them watch you try to pose like the girls you see on Top Model is embarrassing. To the all the girls who have been on Top Model, I’m sorry I laughed at you.

I have a thing for ripped jeans… which makes it no surprise that my closet consists of a few pairs, these being my current favorites. Especially since they’ve had a makeover. These jeans are relaxed and have no stretch in them — gives you that homey feel… hence ‘boyfriend’ jeans. But being the thin jeans they are with rips… those rips slowly turn in to big, big, and bigger holes.

So yes, I gave them a makeover. Okay, the tailor did. But I didn’t know they could do it. I asked them to reinforce the holes to prevent them from ripping further and ta-da! They sewed a patch around the hole and cut out the center so I didn’t end up with a tacky denim patch on my jeans. That plus the vertical sew made the stitching invisible.

Definitely worth it. I’m currently loving my Elliots. Just. Like. New.

P.S. If you’ve ripped your jeans where they’re not supposed to be ripped { ie. the crotch, the knee, oh I’ve done it all before! } the tailor can fix it as well. I ripped a giant hole in the crotch area before and they patched it up – couldn’t even tell it was ripped! Or alternatively, check out Denim Therapy.

{#THREE}: Fitted Denim Jeans

If you don`t have a pair of fitted denim jeans, I’m going to chase you with a pitchfork and send you to hell. Jeans have been a staple in every woman`s {and man`s} wardrobe since they have become popular in fashion and you can be certain that they are here to stay… forever. Jeans are the most versatile piece of clothing you can own. It’s worth stressing over and pulling your hair out to find a pair that fits you perfectly. Think of it as soul searching.

The ideal pair of jeans will be form fitting and flattering regardless of the brand. Boot-cut or straight leg are great for everyday and if you can`t find one that fits you perfectly, make it fit. Go get it altered, lazy. And PLEASE, check yourself out from the back. No one wants to see your muffin top {or your butt crack for that matter}. It’s one of the top 10 fashion mistakes a girl can make according to this guy. Reminder: We want to attract the guys, not deter them away.

Fit is everything and brand is nothing.
