I first saw this beautiful mural of Science World on Alicia Fashionista, and then again on RickChung.com. So, being naturally drawn to pretty things, I had to find it. And by find, I really mean find. It’s a shame that such a pretty mural (which I’m sure took a long time to create) is hidden between buildings, on a small street, above a parking lot. What? Exactly.

It’s been a week since I’ve been back in Vancouver and I’m starting to get back into the grind. Back to reality. I started work on Tuesday (at a “new” company) and I get the privilege to work from home from time to time. Which is awesome, yet dangerous. You’d go crazy too if you were cooped up in a pink messy room for 8 hours with no one to talk to.

And within a week of being back, I’ve converted…. to an iPhone! So now I can instagram, face time, skype, and use my horrid Chinese writing skills on poor, unfortunate friends. And no, I don’t miss BBM. In all honesty, it’s like an annoying, unnecessary bother at times. And now that I’ve disappeared, it feels like a burden has been lifted! So If you don’t hear from me, it’s because I don’t want to talk to you. :)

bunnie

PS. If you’re looking for the mural, you can find it on 45 East 8th Avenue, just off Quebec Street.

Thanks to VancityBuzz and Patrick Leung for doing an “Around Town with Bunnie Bar” feature on me yesterday! Pat and I made a trip over to Lonsdale Quay last week, and although it was raining, it was a lot of fun! And cold.

Now for the even more exciting news… I quit my job and am running away to Asia to hide there until someone finds me and forces me to come back! Just kidding. Well, kind of. I did resign from my work, mainly because I felt like it was time for a change and because the time off I need is… too long.

I’m going to Taipei for 5 weeks. And I’m excited and nervous. The last time I went to Asia was 20 years ago, when I was 5. And since then, I haven’t really been much of an avid traveler, although I would love to be able to see more of the world. I also haven’t gone on a vacation that lasted longer than a week. Meaning that I haven’t been away from home, from family, from everything for…. more than a week. Just a month ago, I didn’t even have any idea when I’d visit Asia, if ever.

I made a vow to myself that I wouldn’t look back on this year and wish I did. So I’m trying to make a change. Create excitement. Take on challenges. And I stared with a comprehensive list of goals and resolutions at the beginning of the year. It’s hopping so far, and I hope it’ll only get better!

Of course, I’ll be updating you guys with whatever I’m doing while I’m away, so stay with me! BTW, any recommendations on things to do / eat /see while I’m there?

There were a couple of days over the last week where the weather here in Vancouver was beautiful. Clear, crisp, and fresh. When it’s nice here, it’s really nice here. Anyone that lives in Vancouver, or has visited can attest to that. Also, when it’s nice here, everyone is out. I mean everyone. It doesn’t matter if it’s chilly or if it’s mid-December. We do it. And it’s one thing I really love about this city. With that being said, I went outside. It was cold, and I was freezing. I hate the cold. I suck at being in it. I would not survive in the arctic… or in Winnipeg. What’s Winnipeg? Nevermind.

Anyways, as I was taking my cold but beautiful stroll, I saw these two poodle-doodle-doo’s de France strolling along. So I took a stalker picture. If these are your dogs… hi! I’m sorry but you asked for attention. Hope you don’t mind.

Aside from that, random question: Do you have Linsanity? I’ve been watching… basketball. I don’t watch the NBA, but I think I have Linsanity. And I’m so rooting for this guy because 1) his inspirational story 2) his passion and humility 3) he’s Chinese. And tall. And smart. 4) He gives me and (a handful of) my guy friends something we can both talk about… in an obsessive, boy crush kinda way. Um, how awesome is that?!
