Foot massages. I love them. I went for my first foot massage about 2 years ago, and shortly after, I was addicted. I started going a 2-3 times a month. I had a problem. So I had an intervention, and now, I rarely go. Just recently, a new modern reflexology spa called Foot Lounge just opened. Trouble.
It’s a great lounge. The massages are awesome. But my favorite part is this: they have a masseuse who gives foot readings. Foot what? Readings. In smart people terms, podomancy.
Your feet tell a story. The right is your masculine side, your Ying. It symbolizes work, money, “manly” things. (Debatable.) The left is your feminine side, your Yang. It symbolizes decision making, trust, and other “girly” things. According to my awesome masseuse, my Ying is dominant over my Yang. I’m a manly she-male who sucks at decision making (truth) and trusting people (truth too). To strengthen my Yang, I need to cut down on sweets. Stress causes me to eat sweets, which in turn, clouds my judgement and triggers bad decision making. Note to self: do not mix alcohol and sugar.
Now if I want to manifest my Ying and make it stronger, I need to find a regular social activity. Like, sports. Pleease. I told the masseuse that I do engage in a social activity. It’s called blogging. Apparently, sitting in front of your computer alone for hours is not a social activity. What?
Anyways, while I’m getting my massage and podomany on, I’m feeling all zen and shit. Our deep, intellectual conversation about my life is suddenly interrupted: [in Chinese] ”WAAAAAH! You need to get a lymph node massage!!! Your legs are sooo FAT!” Yup. That’s a typical traditional Chinese woman for you. Mind you, during the foot massage you could only see my calves. So now I have fat calves too, right under my fat thighs. Common theme?
My BFF and I did burst out laughing though. No offence taken.
XO,

PS – I thought this outfit was appropriate for the post because it’s bold and strong. Since I’m manly and all.
