accessories are like boys

Accessories. I love them like a brand whore loves Gucci, a fat kid loves cake and a single girl loves boys…

So, with obsession comes buying ridiculous amounts of accessories, and wearing (sometimes also ridiculous amounts of) accessories… all the time. If you’re not the accessories kind-of-gal, there’s something severely missing from your life. Let me convince you…

  1. Vanessa Mooney girl in the stone necklace
  2. Marc by Marc Jacobs predator stretch buckle bracelet
  3. Low Luv x Erin Wasson monocle ring
  4. Low Luv x Erin Wasson Metal Crystal Stud Earrings
  5. Langoliers kim ring
  6. Elizabeth and James anchor ring
  7. Pamela Love porcupine needle drop earrings
  8. Pamela Love crystal cuff
  9. Citrine by the Stones long ring
  10. Giles & Brother tiny safety pin studs

Accessories and boys have a lot in common. For example… they come in many different shapes, sizes, builds. They exude different characters and styles. We like one type today, and another type tomorrow. (And right now, I’m in love with matte and brushed look.) We can be quick to obsess or slowly grow to hate. Some are made durable. Others, cheap as hell. Some leave nasty smells behind. Others compliment you. Some are made with quality, last you a lifetime. But more often than not, they’re worth throwing away.

Not convinced? Don’t worry. I’m not done.

here are 3 reasons why every girl should wear accessories

  1. They’re great conversation starters, ice breakers. Perfect for making new girlfriends, if you care to.
  2. If you wear something eye-catching, boys will talk to you. They will either tell you they love your swagger, or ask you WTF you’re wearing.
  3. In the event of an emergency, they can be used as weapons of self defense. Sometimes.

Oh, they do a little something, something to kick your look up just a notch.

Every girl needs a Longchamp bag

This is a bag that every girl should have, and no girl should be without. At first glance, it’s not the prettiest thing. However, I have to vouch that it’s much better looking and less stiff in person than in these pictures.

This is the bag that every girl should have, and no girl should be without.

The reason why I love this bag so much is that it’s perfect for any regular day, all day long.

use it for work. Throw it in – your high heels, your umbrella, that extra sweater for the office, your lunch, your folder. Just name it, it fits.

use it for the gym. My iPod. My water bottle. My towel. My pull over. My hairspray. My after gym shoes and a fresh change of clothes.

use it when shopping. This bag rocks when you’re shopping. Hot? Throw your blazer inside. Thirsty? Take out your bottle of water. Shopping against your boyfriend’s wishes? Hide it in the bag! And, it’s a great way to say no to plastic bags, if you’re into that.

use it just because . I like it fashionable, but subtle. I hate it when you look like you’re trying too hard. Occasionally I like to play dress up, but most of the time, I’m a jeans and sweat top kinda gal. And I love big bags. Because, what kind of girl can fit all her shit in a teeny weeny bags anyway?

If you’re following on Twitter, you’ll probably notice that I’m using this bag 90% of the time in my OFTD posts (as per above). This bag comes in many sizes, but this one’s just right. There’s a small pocket inside, but I admit, sometimes you might have trouble finding what you’re looking for.

Longchamps. Le Pliage. It’s not glamorous. It’s not flashy. But that’s what I love about it.

Don’t be a chump.

I’m a sucker for Aldo. As much as their shoes can be uncomfortable for me, I can’t help but stroll into the store and drown in the multitude of shoes every time I’m at the mall… which is not so often right now since I’ve given up shopping and coffee for Lent. Hence the window shopping. Did I mention, it just so happens that they’re also conveniently located at every shopping center you can find here? It’s in your face.

Aside from that though, they’ve always got something I want. And right now, it’s their new spring shoes… that I can’t wait to get my hands on once this let’s give up the thing you love the most period is over. Oh, and Aldo’s a Canadian company, which makes me an even bigger fan. Kind of like how Justin Beiber gets a +1 for being Canadian.

Do you love?

PS. Shit. I forgot to check out Aldo Accessories. And back to window shopping…

Because you love me, and I’m worth it.

Hello kitty, you’re so pretty

Hello Kitty + Sephora….

Has got to be the @#$%ing best collaboration ever. And, I must also be the @#$%ing last person to know about this. Considering that Hello Kitty is in my roots, and that we share the same birthday (Nov 1. Mark. It. Down.) I should be the FIRST to know. Right? Right.

Embarrassment from being out of the loop aside, I love this line. It’s like Hello Kitty for MAC – without the edge. But unlike Hello Kitty for MAC, I’m making sure I get my hands on the shit I want… before it becomes the shit I wish I had.

Like what? Like the brush set. Apparently the brushes suck, but the case? Too cute to not have. And the compact. And hand held mirror. And the perfume…. bottle. And nail polish… bottle. And.. all the packaging. Cute packaging and manipulative marketing makes me weak. Does anyone know if the quality of this line is actually good? Oh well, like I care.

Sephora in Richmond Center already has few of the products, but I heard Sephora in Pacific Center Downtown will be releasing the line early this week. BAM. I’m there.

So what does your kitty desire?

Nothing like erasing those flaws… not that I have any

“Benefit Erase Paste is a concentrated, creamy, blendable concealer that instantly brightens and camouflages all-in-one. It has an innovative formula which makes sure signs of stress and fatigue are a thing of the past. These three brightening neutral shades give every gal correction perfection.

Average Rating on Sephora: 4/5

I’ve left the world of MAC concealers and switched over to Erase Paste by Benefit. When I first tried this, I was surprised by the consistency of it. Erase Paste is not as ‘hard’ as a lot of other concealers I’ve tried. It’s much more ‘liquidy’  while still being thick enough to provide the right amount of coverage. Yet, it’s not heavy. It goes on smoothly hasn’t left any area looking caked on or dry. I guess paste is the perfect way to explain it.

The concealer comes with a mini spatula and a small booklet to teach you how to use it for under eye coverage, Marionette grooves, and other imperfection spots.

I’m actually quite impressed with this. It’s good in my books!
