I’m a Canuck and that’s how it should be

So it’s round 4 of the playoffs and the Stanley Cup Finals. The last time we made it to the finals, I was 7 years old. It’s been just that long. So you can imagine how hyped everyone is, and how much this means.

Vancouver is a city that loves their hockey, loves their Canucks.

Vancouver is a city that loves their hockey, loves their Canucks.

Remember back in 2010 when the world was watching Vancouver host the winter Olympics? The streets were filled with red and white. This time around, it’s the same thing. Except it’s blue, white and some green. They even lit the Olympic cauldron for the playoffs. That’s how much we love the Canucks. It’s the shit.

That’s one thing I love about this city. When we’re together, we’re really together.

On a side note, I’ve never high-fived and touched so many strangers. Good time to carry around some hand sanitizer.

Let’s bring the cup home.

And the Bunnie Bar was born…

dream

I wanted to start a blog, as you can see.
A blog that was fun and free. A blog that was me.

I have this book where I write down my goals, my aspirations and the things I’ve learned about myself along the way. As I was flipping through it the other day, I came across a page that made me stop, and made me smile. “I want to start a blog.” How this idea came to mind… I can’t quite remember. But I’m pretty sure it was influenced by my job at the time. I worked for an Internet marketing company and I became interested in the industry. And interested in web design too.

bunnie-bar-was-born...

Excited like a little bunnie, I started brainstorming names… but I didn’t get too far. I didn’t know what I wanted to blog about, but I knew i just wanted to do it. I wanted a name that could encompass anything, and anything I wanted to write about. So I “thought long and hard…”

Bunnie Bar is a where I share a bit of me. In… some ways, most ways. And there’s a little bit of something… for every one. Of course I’ve figured out that I love to post about shopping, fashion, and girly things, but you’ll get the occasional odd post, like this one here. Regardless, thanks for being here. For the year and a half so far…. ♥

Now why my name is Bunnie? That’s a story for another day.

XO,

bunnie

PS. Why I decided to HANDWRITE the first line of this blog on the computer, I have no idea. Why I then decided to POST such ugly writing, I don’t even know. I think I thought it was cool….

I’m giving up shopping and coffee

for 40 days and 40 nights…

WHAT?? Am I crazy? Maybe. But Lent is about giving up something that means something. As a (usually) dedicated coffee drinker and a shopping addicted nut-head, this is going to be quite the challenge.

To avoid being yelled ‘HEY cheater! You’re WEAK! You SUUUCCCK!’ on Twitter after tweeting something that goes “against” what I’m propsing, I’m going to have to set a few things straight. No shopping means… no buying for ME. Window shopping? Okay. Present shopping? Okay. Buying necessities? A must. But I’ll keep it to a minimum. Maybe I can steal toilet paper from public washrooms or something.

No coffee means…. no coffee. Easy enough.

So, it’s begun.

What are you giving up for Lent?

XO,

bunnie

Bunnie Bar turns 1!

It’s been one full year since the Bunnie Bar has been hopping around the online community! And a year ago, I would have never thought that I’d still be blogging today…. let alone have any readers. As a newbie blogger, that’s one of the most terrifying things. That and having to spit out writing, content, something, anything from my ass to share with…. anyone who gives a shit. Luckily for you guys, I have a big ass.

bunniebar_birthday

I know most of you have probably never seen my very first blog post — I swear, it took me about 3 hours to write. I went back and edited it a gazillion times… so much that I was irritated with myself. I’d read it again but I’ll probably end up revising it a few times before handing it over to the critics. So without further ado, we hop back to my very first (or how about first few) posts….

The Bunnie Bag

Admit it, your weekend sucked

I love cheap shit

Whoa, you got that right

10 things every girl must have

Looking back on these posts gives me a sort of nostalgic feeling… almost sad. I used to write quite a bit. Now, my blog contains mostly mindless chatter and pictures of things. I guess that’s what happens when you get lazy. What I’m trying to say is… Thanks for still reading. :)

happy birthday bunnie bar!

XO,

bunnie

PS. I know. I’ve been away for a while, busy working on some fun things I can’t wait to share with you! I hope you’re just as excited as me.

PSS. Last but not least, a bunnie-sized thanks to Ian Pham of Minty Fresh Studios. The late night code debugging, photoshop troubleshooting, web hosting and episodes of Kenny vs. Spenny are greatly appreciated. :)

where I must List 7 interesting facts about me. Because I’m so interesting. And then pass it to 7 others. :)

[ 7 ] things about me

  1. I love sushi. Vancouver has some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. My favorite roll? Spider roll. Consists of soft shell crab. Try it. Eat it. Love it.
  2. I’m terrified of growing up. Leave me alone world! I’m just a baby bunnie.
  3. I’ve never had fake nails – gel or acrylic. The thought of paying for refills and to get them removed… and then waiting for your wrecked nails to grow out just sounds like a big hassle to me.
  4. I’m sucky at writing. Ironic isn’t it, since I have a blog. I’ve always found writing to be kind of difficult. It’s not really natural to me. I prefer to post pictures, if you haven’t noticed.
  5. I’m incredibly weird unique. Unique motions, unique noises, unique dance moves and unique thoughts. But I’ll have to be comfortable with you before you see. Again, I’m UNIQUE.
  6. I can’t swim. Well. I can survive in water for about 2 minutes before I drown. I can also float on my front and back… and kick my legs. Okay, I can’t really swim.  But since when did bunnies need to swim?
  7. I love cilantro, garlic and onions. Period. { No, I don’t love periods. }

And LA and I were meant to be

Listen B*tch, I’ve been patiently waiting for you to tell me how your trip was because I’m genuinely interested in what you did, what you bought, and your overall well being. If you make me wait any longer, I’m going to remove myself as a member of your blog, unfollow you on Twitter, delete you off my Facebook and never read your blog again.

. . .

Holy shit. Okay. I’m off my lazy Bunnie butt…. and this post is Just. For.You.

LA is not really “As Seen on TV.”  TV and movies are deceiving. Everything seems much bigger and more glamorous than it really is…

Okay, I lied.
It’s still pretty freakin’ awesome to be…

shopping on Rodeo Drive {hello Miu Miu and Emma Roberts}…

looking over Santa Monica Pier {and Speidi’s engagement spot}…

eating at Toast {aka we hope Brody Jenner is eating here today}…

eating some more at Joan’s on 3rd within 10 feet of Misha Barton…

and looking to the right and seeing the Hollywood sign… {Yes, it’s Miley Cyrus.}

. . .

And did I mention… We made it to DisneyFreakinLand?!

Okay, I know you guys are dying for some sunny bunny fabulous pictures… eat your heart out.

Spotted: THE Hollywood sign… on our way back to the car after satisfying our Pinkberry craving for the hour. Although it was far far away and we were obviously too short to get a good view of it, we tried to take a picture of it.

Hey! Great idea. Let’s get someone to take a picture of us with the sign in the background! So like any other happy Asian tourist, we asked some random on the street to help us out. Of course he agreed… after giving us a ‘you are a funny alien from a foreign land’ look.

You see the teeny weeny Hollywood sign in the back that you can hardly see?  His masterpiece. Notice anything else you can’t see?

Yeah. WE’RE NOT IN THE DAMN PICTURE.
My friend, YOU are a funny alien from a foreign land.

Anyways, aside from meeting funny people, stalking celebrities and EEEEE!-ing over everything in sight, we managed to do a little shopping, and a lot of window shopping. I know you nosy people are wondering what I bought… {it’s okay, I’m nosy too} so here are the two that are worth mentioning. :)

I’m sure you can see with your little eyeballs that LA was a damn good trip.

Where does Bunnie go next??
