Post-holidays, Zara was having a massive sale on almost everything! You can really find some really great deals. It’s almost like stealing. (Like that Ikea commercial. Ok, that was lame.) So next year, I’m marking my calendar and making a point to visit Zara after Christmas. Only. Which means I won’t be shopping there just before that, or helping them stimulate the economy. Suckers.

I picked up some leather accessories — bib necklaces and a bracelet. They were all on sale for $3.99 from $30 and $15. Not bad. Like I said, sometimes, I’m really an awesome shopper.

Just a quick snapshot of my latest accessories. They all have a bit of rocker, a bit of edge and some attitude to them. And all for a very decent price too. With the amount of accessories I have and the frequency in which my taste changes, inexpensive is probably the best way to go, especially for costume jewelry.

Accessories. I love them like a brand whore loves Gucci, a fat kid loves cake and a single girl loves boys…

So, with obsession comes buying ridiculous amounts of accessories, and wearing (sometimes also ridiculous amounts of) accessories… all the time. If you’re not the accessories kind-of-gal, there’s something severely missing from your life. Let me convince you…

Accessories and boys have a lot in common. For example… they come in many different shapes, sizes, builds. They exude different characters and styles. We like one type today, and another type tomorrow. (And right now, I’m in love with matte and brushed look.) We can be quick to obsess or slowly grow to hate. Some are made durable. Others, cheap as hell. Some leave nasty smells behind. Others compliment you. Some are made with quality, last you a lifetime. But more often than not, they’re worth throwing away.

I don’t know where this idea originated, but it’s both stupid and interesting. So here it is. I’m exposed for all of you to see.

Soon enough I’ll be substituting the sunnies for an umbrella. I’m sure the rest of Vancouver can understand. As for why I carry a book around sometimes, you never know when you’re going to be @#$%ing bored out of your mind, waiting for something or someone with nothing to do. I believe in efficiency and productivity. It helps me.

On a side note, I’ve neglected my blog for a while and I’m sorry? But I have a good excuse. I was away in Vegas for work having the time of my life. Because all I do is party, ah ah ah ah! Right… but really, I was there for my first trade show. I feel so… important, so cool, so grown up. And like a true grown up, it’s bedtime. Or is that like a true granny?

I mentioned a while ago that I’ve been up to no good. Well so you know, I’ve been capturing innocent bunnies, training them in my factory and making them slave for me. Just kidding. But I do think they could use a new hobby. They’ve been multiplying far too fast lately.

I love my falsies

Falsies and I have a love hate relationship. I love how they create drama, glamour and sexy flirtatious eyes in an instant, but I hate that you need to put them on every time… and carefully watch that they stay on. Have you ever had your falsies start peeling off from the edges? So not fun.

But at the end of the day, whoever came up with the idea of false lashes is genius! I’ve tried a couple of different brands, but Ardel l Lashes has been my favorite so far — they’re soft and flexible, come in many different styles and are affordable too.

Here are the styles I regularly use. The 110′s are great for a natural daytime look, while the 117′s and 120′s are perfect for evenings. As for the 102′s, I use them for day and night. The only thing about them is that they look less natural.

I love using DUO eyelash adhesive to put on lashes. The dark tone is great, especially if your application techniques are less than perfect. Just apply some eyeliner on first and the glue will blend right in!

Applying False Lashes…

Match lash strip to your own eyelid and trim off any excess lash from the outer edge.
Apply a thin layer of eyelash glue to the strip and let dry for 30 seconds. This allows time for the glue to become stickier.
Close your eye and place eyelashes directly above your natural lash line. Generally, you want to put the lashes on to match the angle of your real lashes, but if the angle of your natural lashes isn’t what you like, try tilting it slightly upwards. I don’t have double eyelids (boo!) so when I apply lashes, I like to angle the lash strip slightly upward than that of my regular lashes… making my eyes appear bigger! Make sense?
Gently curl lashes if needed and apply light mascara on the tips for a more dramatic but natural look. After all, what girly girl doesn’t wear mascara on a regular basis??

When you’re done with the falsies for the day, carefully peel them off from one edge to the other and pick off any adhesive clumps, but be careful not to rip any of the hairs off. Store them back in the box to retain shape and keep them clean for next time!

You can re-use eyelashes over and over again depending on how well you keep them. I’ve used a single pair every day for almost a month before they started wearing out…. I probably should have thrown them out sooner… for sanitary reasons! But I do keep them pretty clean!
