Montreal & New York Photo Log
Posted in Summers and Sunnies, Think bunnie thoughts, Travels23 Comments
Alas! A photo log of my recent trip to the east coast. I’m so, so sorry for the delay. I know the wait must have been absolutely unbearable. The agony! The pain!! I’m kidding, obviously. You might give a rat’s ass about it, but I’m going to share my trip with you anyway, because I know somebunny out there is curious… and I’d like a record of the memory for my own sake. After all, this is a blog, isn’t it? :)
{ Montreal, Quebec }

Strolling in Old Montreal. The buildings have so much character, and the terraces are perfect for warm evenings. Plus, a lot of them allow you to BYOW: bring your own wine!

Amazing smoked meat from Schwartz’s. They give you the option to choose your fat content. Medium, please.

International Jazz Festival. It’s a really big event in Montreal. Vancouver has it as well, but it’s not nearly as popular.

This is almost embarrassing to say, but the maple bacon Poutine from… Burger King was really good.

The view of the courtyard at Oratorie Saint-Joseph.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wigglin’ it with LMFAO in Laval.

Brunch at with his best friend, and my best friend at Le Club Chasse et Peche. :)
{ New York }

Times Square

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Catching up with Alex Wong, my favorite dancer and SYTYCD contestant in the whole wide world at Basta Pasta Italian-Japanese fusion restaurant. What a mouthful.

The world’s largest store is Macy’s!

Spider bunnies at FAO Schwarz
My first time visiting the east coast of North America was amazing. I wish I could have stayed longer. There are still so many things that I didn’t get to see, and so much shopping that still needs to be done. I totally wouldn’t mind living in NYC either. The more places I get to see, the more of the world I want to see. And I’m starting to feel like home is a bit boring and slow-paced… a lot of the time. Vancouver is a beautiful city, and everyone should visit at least once. But having been here all my life, I feel like there’s not much to do, and not much going on… relative to some of the places I’ve just come back from. Or maybe I’m just a biased, grumpy old bunnie.
Anyways, East Coast… I’ll be back. *Arnold Schwarzenegger voice*

LOL thanks. He does have a baby face. Which means he will most likely continue looking good for a longer period of time… which is great for me! Haha!
what a great photo diary!
u make me miss ny! <3
awww it really looks like you had so much fun! and you look lovely as usual!
Looks like you had fun~ I feel the same way about california .. especially after going to europe!! In europe, you can take a train for a hour, and you’re in a different country … here in the states .. it takes me over an hour just to get to work!! and there’s nothing exciting here~ *sigh*

GAH! I actually really like Cali… the sunshine, the palm trees. The beaches. I’d be okay with living there. And I’m sure there’s much more night life (in LA and around) than Vancouver! But Europe does sound like it would be amazing!
you and your boy are so cute together! looks like you had a great trip!
Great pictures…there’s so much to react to. But first, Burger King??? Wow!
Montreal looks like a very cool, old city. I really like the architecture. As for NYC and the Met, it KILLS me they have such awesome stuff displayed so well. It’s hard for the Smithsonian to compete. At least the Smithsonian museums in DC are all free.

Haha I actually eat Burger King poutines in Vancouver too! It’s my fast food go to place for poutine! And yes, Montreal has a lot of character. The buildings are beautiful. :) The MET was AMAZING. It was my first time in such a grand museum!
PS – 1) It’s a good bet somebunny is always interested. 2) When I vacation in less hectic places, I love it and want to stay. I think it has to do with different being exciting—unless it’s too freaking weird! =)
Amazing pictures. I love basta pasta.
haha I think everyone loves peeking at other’s travel photos – within reason (no slideshows please). It looks like you had a blast and you and Ron are sooo cute together! You two are both ridiculously good looking hahah Tell him to visit Van!!
I think Vancouver is definitely way more laidback than a lot of over cities, but I think that’s part of its charm. Grass is always greener I suppose.
I’m totally drooling over your smoked meat sandwich photo! The last time I was in Montreal was in 2005, and New York was 1997 so I’m definitely due for a visit to go back! Glad you enjoyed your vacation and hey, maybe you might make a big move out East if it really captures your heart…

You are totally due for a visit! I think I’ve been bit with the travel bug. I wouldn’t mind moving for a couple of years or so if the opportunity came up! But right now, I am pretty content with everything, other than the fact that my bf is not here!
God I love New York. I have only been once (last year for Christmas) but I definitely want to go back again..soon! As for Montreal, I haven’t been in over 10 years and it’s so close to me, well a six hour drive.
That’s so cool that you got to see Alex. Are you guys good friends? It was so heartbreaking when he couldn’t perform anymore on the show.

I met Alex a long, long time ago! We were in ballet school together and were really good childhood friends for a while… and then he moved away and became amazing! He totally should have won that SYTYCD season!
Thanks for sharing these pretty fun pictures…hey you look positively glowing in your photos….love your exotic look! Missing you @ my blog lately!!

Maple bacon poutine from Burger King??? Ok, that’s not the only thing I picked up from this post, but it does look scrumptious.
BUrger King is boring T_T

Haha hey that poutine was pretty delicious though! My bf and I look like kids sometimes when we’re together haha! And no, he’s not related to Alex! I met Alex in ballet school back when we were little kids!
Looks like you had a great trip.
Still never had poutine believe it or not. Looks crazy good. That sandwich up there looks crazy good as well though! Gurrrrrrrrrr so hungry now!
Very good points. I love the Bay Area, but could not afford to live there. There are other places in Cali and the Northwest which are cheaper and a good quality of life and you’re not saddled with brutal heat and humidity (sorry, I absolutely hate humidity). But yeah, the West is getting insane. Seattle and Vancouver, B.C., are approaching Bay Area type real estate prices. But those aren’t the only places to live in the West. There are many mid-range and small towns which are affordable and have a good quality of life. But I hear you on the Bay Area sucking your money and for what? So you can look at the bridges and water?
