 Poor little puppies for sale

My first couple of days in Taipei have been full of eating, walking and shopping. The food is pretty delicious and cheap (except for my first dinner — that came up to about $60 CAD which… isn’t cheap at all) and there’s a lot of inexpensive shopping too, especially shoes! I’m pacing myself though and so far, only bought a few things including one maxi dress… which was cheaply made. Pout. Can’t really complain. It cost a few dollars. The style here is different, but there are similarities — maxi skirts, florals, bright colors and some neon. I have yet to see pastels or stacked on bracelets though. They probably think I’m some kind of crazy accessory overload.

Anyways, I’m determined to learn some Mandarin. I think it’s difficult for me to catch on because I’m so used to Cantonese that I completely butcher the language when I say it in Mandarin. My version of Mandarin is basically… Cantonese in a “Mandarin” accent. It doesn’t work. I can’t wait to be in Hong Kong.

Awww seeing those puppies makes me sad! I can’t ever look at dogs/puppies in Asian countries because I just want to take them all home and hoard them! :P

On a more happy note, the food looks superbly delicious and I am deathly jealous!!

There were also bunnies cramped in a cage :( That made me sad too!!!

All that food looks super yummy!! I wish I were back in Taipei~ The dogs are super cute, but it’s sad to see them .. since most of them are from puppy mill and will die, regardless of being bought or not, due to health problems .. so sad~

you seem to eat out a lot but you’re so skinny! i dunno how you do it! lol

    Bunnie says:

Haha, well dear… I have a small top but a bigger bottom! I guess that makes me pear shaped! All the food goes there. It’s like a pit. And it gets bigger. And bigger! It’s just hidden well in photos ;) It sucks when you go swim suit shopping and you need to get an XS top and a M bottom!! :p

my god where did you go to dinner?! $60 CAD is ridiculous for Taipei. Speaking of which, I had no idea you were there! If you get the chance, check out Yiping (phone # is 2703-0018 and address is 台北市敦化南路 2 段81巷47號), I love their salmon sashimi and lamb chops. I love Salut too. The food is meh, but the hot butterscotch milk tea is amazing (phone # is (02)2325-6878, address is 台北市仁愛路四段266巷8弄2號). And they are both reasonably priced!

Thanks for the suggestions! I ate at… some place that I think was catered to tourists. There were caucasians there! Haha! But it was delicious nonetheless. What district is Yiping and Salut in? Sorry, I can’t read all of the characters! Haha!

    Bunnie says:

You should definitely try to go! I haven’t been back since I was 5… which is a crime!
