HANA titanium flat iron

A hair straightener is a must have for a girl. I’ve never considered it to be such an essential, but whether you have straight or curly hair, it comes in handy, right?? Do most of you use or have a straightener or am I just making a crazy assumption?
I’ve been using the same hair straightener for 5 years and it has finally died. Lucky for me (I rarely get lucky, in any way), Misikko sent me the HANA Titanium 1.5″ flat iron and saved my life. And my hair. And my chance at meeting cute boys. Because cute boys care how our hair looks. Just kidding, they don’t give a shit.
I’m not a big hair person. I style my hair the same way all the time. I’m boring. And lazy. I’ve heard a lot of things about the Chi flat iron, but WTF is Hana? Apparently a pretty good luxury straightener.

The straightener comes in a tin box and includes a travel case, heat proof mat and pouch. I’m also a fan of the sleek black color, and hot pink logo. I like pretty things. If you don’t, you can check out Misikko’s top 10, recommended best flat irons.
So, how does Hana perform? I used it to straighten and curl my rather awful hair.
unstyled, unstraightened, unpretty

curled

The Hana straightener works really well for straightening hair. It glides smoothly and irons out bends and kinks. As for curling hair, it’s also smooth and easy to work with, especially since this plate is 1.5″ instead of 1″, but the curl doesn’t hold for long on my hair. Mucho hairspray needed. With my previous straightener, no hair spray was required and the curl lasted a few days. I found it odd, but hey, not complaining.
I’m happy with this straightener. It satisfies my needs, and curls my hair… which is actually more important to me than straightening hair. Anyone else use a straightener to curl? It’s super easy and super fast. But if you’re the type that prefers using a curling iron, Misikko has a good selection of them too. I have the hot tools curler, but I never use it anymore.
PS – straightening and curling were done on 2 separate days, on clean hair.

your hair is so cute curled! i can never figure out how to curl it with a straightener..it must be some special skill that all females know but me!
i got this exact straightener as well and i really loved it! you did a much better job in curling your hair than me hahaha. i found it was kind of hard to curl my hair with!
You have hair??? LOL, of course guys care how girls hair looks, just not in the same way other girls look at it and judge. I can’t speak for all men, but I think the “caring” breaks down into whether it looks like straw, looks normal, or looks special (specially curled or styled). Your hair looks pretty in all the pictures, but it has a little extra attitude in the last 3.
This might sound weird {a first for me :) }, but long hair usually looks really nice on rainy, windy days. It’s like free styling courtesy of Mother Nature.

You sound like a pretty observant guy! I can’t say that all guys are equally as observant though… I’m pretty sure there are ones out there that don’t notice a girl’s clothing… make up… hair.. the like! And yes, long hair on a windy day is like walking around with a wind machine! Totally model-esque!
Wow! The curly look is sooo pretty!!! How often do you curl/apply heat to your hair?

Thanks, love! I don’t really use the straightener too much now. I’ve become really lazy…. but previously I would curl my hair almost everyday! I have a lot of split ends. But I find that slightly damaged hair is much easier to style than healthy, sleek hair!
I LOVE the curly hair look! I wish I looked more into my straightener/curler before I jumped the gun. I bought the Helen of Troy 1″ Curling wand and the Helen of Troy 2″ Flat Iron—they’re good but kind of a waste since everything is now 2 in 1. But then again this was almost 3-4 years ago since I got them.
Anyways, I’m just blabbing now. YOU LOOK GOOD!

Sounds like it’s time for you to get a new straightener/curler! My last straightener lasted me a good few years. RIP to that.
Wow. Your hair turned out sleek and straight. I like the curly effect too.
Your hair looks awesome all 3 ways, actually. Makes me miss having nice loooong pretty hair :(
Your hair is still pretty unstyled. I haven’t ever used a hair straightener. I guess I’m old fashion, but I still own and use a curling iron if ever I have the time to style my hair. My hair is naturally straight, so it falls flat. You know how it goes, girls with straight hair want wavy/curls and girls with curls want straight.

So true. I wish I had naturally wavy hair… but straight hair isn’t so bad. I imagine it’s much easier to curl straight hair than straighten curly hair! Anyways, if you learn to curl your hair with a straightener, it becomes much more efficient and a lot quicker. Give it a try sometime. ;)
Awesome!!
