Bedo $40 | Urban Behavior $30 | Urban Planet $1 | Talula $90

for less than $100.

The classic little black dress has become more and more stylish with time and in this ever-changing fashion world, a girl can’t ever have just one. So why do it? We don’t.

Nor do we spend a fortune on our LBDs, as I’m sure you can tell. Don’t get me wrong, I’d kill for a dress by Vivienne Westwood (and then I’d have to kill myself for going bankrupt) but one dress is never enough and I can hardly justify spending thousands of dollars on hundreds of dresses….. just yet.  So till then, there’s nothing I love more than finding fabulous pieces at fabulous prices.

The Bedo bandage dress was a major steal (regular price: $120) and the Urban Planet one sleeve was part of a buy one, get the second for $1 deal (yes, you could say it’s a lame store but how could you resist?).

Anyway, go ahead and laugh. I’m wearing a $1 dress. But I feel like a million bucks. What about you?

  1. Nivea Visage Aqua Sensation – First thing that touches my face after water each morning. An invigorating and hydrating day cream with cucumber extract that freshens and wakens me up. Oh, hello! Also contains UVA/UVB protection.
  2. Bare Escentuals Prime Time - bareVitamins foundation primer that smooths out skin, leaving it even and consistent for make-up application. I smooth this all over my face after my day cream has absorbed. Contains plant extracts, vitamins E and C and age-defying power.
  3. Benefit Ooh La Lift – An eye booster that brightens eyes, making dark circles less visible through light-reflecting pigments. NOT a bag vanishing cream – it simply reflects light so circles look lighter. If you apply some and you can’t notice a thing: 1. You’re blind. 2. Tilt your head in different directions towards light and you will see it.
  4. Benefit That Gal – A face brightening primer that brightens your face and evens out your skin tone. It’s light, has a pink tinge to it and smells delicious.  I use this after Prime Time by Bare Escentuals and before anything else.
  5. Sheer Cover Concealor - You might be thinking Sheer Cover? I’ve never heard of that. So I was watching TV late at night when this infomercial (yes, infomercial!) came on. Too lazy to change the channel I kept watching… and watching… and watching. And then I was hooked. I finally came over the embarrassment of what I was doing and called in to buy it… only to find out it’s unavailable in Canada. So I ordered online and shipped it to the border. Check it: Sheer Cover.  Light-weight, great coverage, smooth texture. Yes, I’m a loser.
  6. Too Faced Brow Envy – A complete brow control set I use to get those perfect eyebrows.
  7. Rimmel Lash Maxxx – Rated R goodness in a hot pink and black tube. Need I say more? But really, I like this for its comb-toothed application brush. I only use it for my bottom lashes, and it gets every. single. one. By the time I’m finished with this, I actually have lashes.
  8. MAC Lipstick – Stands out on the runway. Shimmers on the street. It’s true. Hue is one of my favorite cremesheen lipsticks. A creamy, nudie pink to give you that sexy, barely there pout.
  9. Shu Uemura Curler – It’s a great eyelash curler. It really is. The only thing I don’t like (as I mentioned in a previous post) is that you can’t buy extra replacement pads for it.
  10. Nars Blush/Bronzer Duo – in Orgasm and Laguna. It’s a pair made in heaven. I use the bronzer all over my face for a sun-kissed glow and the blush for my barely existent cheekbones.
  11. Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner – Inexpensive, smooth and bold. What more do you need?
  12. Ardell Lashes – My absolute favorite brand of falsies. After all, I love my falsies.  The 110s are perfect for when you need to look extra flirtatious during the day without over-doing it. One of my pet peeves: Girls who don’t know the difference between a day and night look.
  13. Cargo Eyelighter – I’m so happy I found you. With a double ended tip, you get both matte and shimmer for highlighting. Not sure how to use it? Just follow Cargo’s how to tutorial. Sephora stopped carrying Cargo, but you can find it at Eccotique Spas and Beauty Mark in Yaletown. At $20, it’s a steal!

And there you have it. All the shit that goes on this bunnie face most mornings.

I have a new appreciation for models. Besides looking pretty and glamorous, they also manage to look like goddesses with every move they make. Must be hard. Sucks to be them.

It also sucks to be a celebrity. Have you seen those nasty shots the paparazzi get?

The moral of the story is: Photoshoots are fun when you’re with your friends, but having them watch you try to pose like the girls you see on Top Model is embarrassing. To the all the girls who have been on Top Model, I’m sorry I laughed at you.

Thanks to Annabelle Yee for taking our photos. It was a perfect combination of fun, creativity, and heat stroke.

I made a mistake

7am. Shit. Where the hell am I?

Who the @#$% is that?? Ew chest carpet.

Fucking beer goggles.

I’m getting out of… Ooo! A cookie!

Oh, maybe I’ll stay for a bit.

That’s how I picture the morning after a one nighter to be…. if I ever had one. Maybe minus the beer goggles, the chest carpet, the stale cookie and… I take that back. I’d eat the cookie again. Over and over again. Anyways. Not that I’m planning on having a one nighter anytime soon. Or ever.

But I’m just saying, if I were ever in the situation, I’d sacrifice a few minutes (or maybe an hour) and the possibility of awkwardness and humiliation to rummage through that poor sucker’s kitchen. After all, it wasn’t very good. It’s the least he could do.

After a long streak of barbecues, sun tanning, and beach bunny-ing, the rain’s made it’s way back into our lives again. Not saying it’s a bad thing – with all forest fires and crunchy yellow lawns right now, we definitely need some rain.

But there’s something about the rain and gloom that makes me feel tired, lazy, ugly. Like a minor case of SAD. That’s probably why I’ve been hiding. Why my hair has been in a bun for the last few days. Why I’ve rocked out (with my cock out) on Band Hero for 4 hours. Why I’ve been stuffing cookies into my mouth when no one’s looking.

I don’t care.

It’s been one full year since the Bunnie Bar has been hopping around the online community! And a year ago, I would have never thought that I’d still be blogging today…. let alone have any readers. As a newbie blogger, that’s one of the most terrifying things. That and having to spit out writing, content, something, anything from my ass to share with…. anyone who gives a shit. Luckily for you guys, I have a big ass.

bunniebar_birthday

I know most of you have probably never seen my very first blog post — I swear, it took me about 3 hours to write. I went back and edited it a gazillion times… so much that I was irritated with myself. I’d read it again but I’ll probably end up revising it a few times before handing it over to the critics. So without further ado, we hop back to my very first (or how about first few) posts….

Admit it, your weekend sucked

I love cheap shit

Whoa, you got that right

10 things every girl must have

Looking back on these posts gives me a sort of nostalgic feeling… almost sad. I used to write quite a bit. Now, my blog contains mostly mindless chatter and pictures of things. I guess that’s what happens when you get lazy. What I’m trying to say is… Thanks for still reading. :)

happy birthday bunnie bar!

XO,

bunnie

PS. I know. I’ve been away for a while, busy working on some fun things I can’t wait to share with you! I hope you’re just as excited as me.

PSS. Last but not least, a bunnie-sized thanks to Ian Pham of Minty Fresh Studios. The late night code debugging, photoshop troubleshooting, web hosting and episodes of Kenny vs. Spenny are greatly appreciated. :)
