Denim with them holes
Bunnies, meet Current/Elliot.
I have a thing for ripped jeans… which makes it no surprise that my closet consists of a few pairs, these being my current favorites. Especially since they’ve had a makeover. These jeans are relaxed and have no stretch in them — gives you that homey feel… hence ‘boyfriend’ jeans. But being the thin jeans they are with rips… those rips slowly turn in to big, big, and bigger holes.
So yes, I gave them a makeover. Okay, the tailor did. But I didn’t know they could do it. I asked them to reinforce the holes to prevent them from ripping further and ta-da! They sewed a patch around the hole and cut out the center so I didn’t end up with a tacky denim patch on my jeans. That plus the vertical sew made the stitching invisible.
Definitely worth it. I’m currently loving my Elliots. Just. Like. New.

P.S. If you’ve ripped your jeans where they’re not supposed to be ripped { ie. the crotch, the knee, oh I’ve done it all before! } the tailor can fix it as well. I ripped a giant hole in the crotch area before and they patched it up – couldn’t even tell it was ripped! Or alternatively, check out Denim Therapy.
That’s so clever! I have 2 pairs of Citizens jeans that I love dearly but haven’t worn in almost a year because they ripped in the inside of the thigh and it’s almost spreading to the back so that someone walking behind me would get a inappropriate view. Maybe I should go to the tailor to see if it can be fixed, seeing as how they seem to be able to do anything!!
How much did it cost for ya to get that done? I think for me, when I’m getting holes in my jeans, its time to ‘donate’ them!

Haha I have a hole in my favourite pair of jeans but I can’t quite give them up yet. The makeover is pretty good! Maybe I should do something similar to give mine more life (or they will end up being some ripped shorts) x

My tailor has been patching up my rips for years now and I just sent her the biggest rip of my life this morning. A couple more inches and one leg would have turned into shorts :( I hope the operation turns out okay.
Woah, I had no idea tailors could patch up crotch holes…. What other magic do they know?
