Ballerina Bunnie

Ballet. I did it for 10 years and then quit when I realized that I wasn’t exactly made for it. Everyone was tall & slender while I was {and still am} short & stubby. Plus, continuing in ballet would only mean that it would get more competitive and serious — something I could definitely NOT see myself doing, career wise. With my figure, I’d probably get cast as Oompa Loompa… doompadee doo. Who wants to come watch?
The girly part of me still loves the soft elegance and femininity that is all ballerina. I LOVE this tulle skirt. It’s so sweet. So girly. So tutu. However, me going to a night club looking like a pretty ballerina is probably not the best idea… Not the time or place to look 16. Yes, s i x t e e n. Hence the tulle skirt worn with the black, the chains, the leather… and offset with pearls to keep it oh so feminine. {Black. Chains. Leather. Hmmm… what a nice combo.}

This outfit makes me want to curtsy and twirl! Oh the joy of being a girl.
LOVES it.
XO,

i just stumbled on your blog and I enjoy reading it. Your outfit is adorable. The tutu is so Carrie Bradshaw :)
Your outfit is cute… I’m not wearing my tutu outside of the dance studio, though. It’s too big and poufy!
1. wow that outfit is gorgeous! you are inspiring me to go find a skirt like that!
and
2. YOU FOOL you are in no way `stubby`! that is the completely wrong word for you!
Thanks for the comment! I didn’t realize I had comments on my…um…inactive blog :)
I LOVE how you put your outfit together. I love jeans too…but haven’t found a perfect pair. How tall are you btw? I’m pretty short too (5’3) and was wondering if you can recommend a pair for this shorty ^_~
I am currently testing Latisse on my lashes and it seems to be working. I will hopefully move my heavy butt and post updates about it hehe.
Take care and thanks for stopping by!
found your blog thorugh katy aka twentyfourcarat.net and ahhh i love your blog :) love the outfit and yea – ballet is a very serious and competitive sport so i understand your reasoning for not doing it all through out your life. I did ballet for a few years as a very small child and then switched to trying everything else out. hahah.
Short? Maybe. But stubby? Most definitely not! You look super cute! Love it!
I took ballet too as a munchkin but my mom made me quit right before junior high. *cries* But you’re right, you have to have the right bod for it. That being said however, you may be petite (fellow shortie here btw) but you are def not stubby!!
I think you nailed it with this outfit. Madonna meets Upper East Side chic…ooh la la!
P.S The Japanese dyes contain an insane amount of bleach (I think anyway) so brown tresses CAN be had, girl! xoxo
hey bunnie…
damn im so embarrassed that we met when i was drunk. >_< that's the worst time to ever meet someone. hopefully next time it would be more of a proper introduction =P i love your outfit here. u look so cute!! i think i may have the same skirt as you. lol* i had gotten it when i was in LA a few weeks ago & i actually wore it out this wknd too. almost the same way you did. but i wore it under a navy blue dress that was a lil too short and with a blazer as well. Maybe I should post it & be matchy patchy with you LOL*
I think its pretty cool that you used to do ballet. Do you still remember how? and no you are NOT stubby, perhaps cute and petite but no way are you stubby. geeze hehe.
thx for asking about my costumes babe. i finished 4 when i was in van and now i got a few more to go. Ive been struggling to stay motivated tho. Did you come up with anything ideas for halloween yet? =)
Your outfit is great, I especialy love the skirt. Both of you looks super sexy!
Great post.

*loves*
oompa loompa. LOL.
Oh you look so pretty Bunnie! I love that look because I love tutus, and I don’t care about the ballerina thin philosophy, you are totally thin and cute!
hey, found your blog through twentyfourcarat too! I love everything about it and you are super cute
peace out
Love this look! You’re gorgeous girl! I would totally rock the tutu at a club, it’s very Asian and sexy ;) Hmm F21 eh, I’ll have to check it out cuz I want to be a ballerina for Halloween and this would be perfect for the costume and for wearing later!
u’re really pretty! I did ballet for a long time too and still love it to bits but I am not tall and slender at all:) hahaha
you’re far from stubby! i love ballerina-inspired clothing, so pretty and perfect for a night out. i love the way you have accessorized here it looks really rad!
xx
So pretty and girly! You wear this look beautifully. x
If you’re stubby I’m whale-ish. LMAO! You are way too cute. ;) You definitely rock this outfit and you have awesome taste in clothing. Love it!
thanks for visiting my blog ! and the lovely comment too :)
loving that tutu skirt . nicely complimented with the masculine blazer.
i did ballet up to the age of 14 too . and I decided it wasnt good for me . I wasnt getting any better due to my un-flexible body and I have a fat belly as compared to the other girls who had a flat one :(
mind to exchange links ?
i’m adding you to my blog roll .
loving it at first sightt…

Your outfit is fantastic. I love it. Great photos. I always love checking out ballerinas. Hope you’re having a wonderful week. Cheers!
You look GORGEOUS! I quit ballet when I was a wee one, but I still love a good tutu!
I totally love that outfit, it is so hot and chic. I just stumbled upon your site, it’s fab.
I too dreamed of being a ballerina when I was little, but I was always like 5 pounds over the required weight. I wasn’t a skinny mini, I definitely had a little baby fat, but it was too much for them!
Love it!
awww…you look sooo pretty in this outfit!!! Love that tutu skirt!!!
Aw, thanks for the sweet comment. :) Oh yeah, spider rolls def ain’t cheap here either! It’s a once a month only indulgence for me. My driver’s license says I’m a statuesque 5’3. Oh, and I’ve got a booty too.
Girllllllllllllll. you look absolutely gorgeous and I love how you threw a blazer on top of the look too! Tres chic! and heyyyy I would totally go watch you perform ballet. Oompa loompa and everything! xoxox
Great blog! You’re gorgeous!
That is completely adorable!! I just love your outfit and that skirt is love! I’ve always wanted one like that. A shirt tulle skirt in that colour. I must search for one. Don’t worry about looking young as no one ever thinks I’m my real age. You still have a ballet gracefulness which I think is just great! x
Oh my, you are so NOT chubby and short! You look beautiful! I used to dance too, but not ballet – more of a jazzclassicstreet-ish :p
Re:
Indeed a snowball-effect! Stupid day, I say. But apparently it made some excellent blog-material :p Thank you so much for visiting and commenting, sweetheart!
okay, that has got to be one of the cutest outfits i’ve ever seen. LOOOOOVES IT! and yes, the joys of being a girl.. but don’t forget monthly periods and mood swings. just sayin’ ;P and ummm can you please explain where the short and stubby part is? i dont see it.
You use to be a ballerina?! That’s so cute! I use to envy all my girlfriend’s in first grade who would leave for ballet class after school.
Is that what you wore at Aubar? Aw, it looks hot and I love how you pulled it together with the blazer. I wish I saw it! I was already really buzzed when I saw you. =S
I tried hemming my jeans before but they just don’t look the same…maybe we have bad tailors here in the area lol. Anyway, I’ll def check out forever 21 jeans. I have purchased expensive jeans but only to find that they don’t fit well. I wish they had jeans for us ppls. I find “short” jeans to be too short and “regular” jeans to be a bit too long. I’m in between -_o
btw, you are absolutely NOT stubby~!
love this look… i always wanted a tutu-ish skirt but in black

love this look, so cute and fun
CUTESTTTT lil skirt ever and love your blog! Your contacts are to die for as well! <3
When the time comes and I advise my son to find a sweet girl who is short and stubby, he’s not going to believe me–because you are not stubby. Girls!!!
